My family and I recently visited the MOHAI museum.  I don't think I could say I am a big fan of museums.  Rarely go to them.  But this museum actually caught not only my interest, but my husband's as well.  We plan to make a date day/evening for the museum as we really want to give more attention and focus to what this museum has to offer in its stories, facts and information - we had our two kids and it made it rough to really grasp more than we were able, but still all enjoyed the outing!

The exhibit that seemed to catch both of us the most, was True Northwest: The Seattle Journey.  It caught our attention because for two individuals, that one grew up here and one whom came here over 20 years ago from another country, but is a history fanatic,   there was so much included in the stories/facts and information that we were learning I think for the first time.  I was intrigued at least.  I learn things through my husband ALL the time - hello!...he has a degree in history.  He's the kind of individual that I will ask something without expecting anything in answer, and yes he knows the answer typically. But this museum has more to offer than just this exhibit we both gained so much appreciation for.  It shares the history of the Ford car, telephones, what our parents used to watch tv on...a big fat television set (amazing to think how technology has changed even since the 90s (90s being much of my childhood).  One exhibit I found unique and had a funny edge was the theater talking about the fire that took the area of Pioneer Square - the original downtown Seattle I believe.  I appreciated how they explained this piece of history, but I also found it annoying every so slightly how they presented the information.  But that's just me!

If you haven't been to the MOHAI museum - highly recommended!
